Prior to starting her own business, Kara spent years serving as chief of staff to the founder of several high-growth startups in Nashville. She also served in the federal government and began her career in the nonprofit sector planning events on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
Throughout her career, Kara has been drawn to creating experiences that cultivate and capture the power of human connection. Locket Events Co. is the culmination of Kara’s passion for collaboration and celebration, creating unforgettable experiences for her clients. With multi-sector experience, Kara understands the unique needs of each client and has the astute ability to transform a thought into action and action into results, delivering every occasion with careful precision and signature style.

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND LOCKET EVENTS CO.
You know what they say, behind every woman is the woman who helped raise her. Susan Gertude Thrasher Eakin, known as “Gussy” to all, was Kara’s spunky and sassy grandma. She had only one volume...loud. She was loving, eccentric, and unapologetically herself. She lived with Kara and her mom Lisa for most of Kara's childhood, and her influence shaped Kara into the woman she is today - resilient and resourceful. She taught Kara a lot about life - to stop and take a photo of a sunset and to look for the four leaf clovers because you might just get lucky. She always knew how to be the life of the party. When she passed, she left Kara a locket that now serves as the company's namesake and inspiration.
