Today marks one year of Locket Events Co.

When I launched this business a year ago, I was changing industries and couldn’t wait to build something of my own - a business I could pour heart, creativity, strategy, and collaboration into.

What I didn’t fully realize was just how much this year would teach me and I wanted to share the biggest things I’ve learned:

- TRUST YOUR GUT. Believe in each step you’re taking because you’re taking it for a reason.
- There is no playbook in founding your business because your business is uniquely you. Believe in your path.
- Set goals, set them high. Don’t forget to celebrate the small wins.
- Kindness is everything. Events can be hard and stressful. Be kind to your people, clients, venues, vendors, and partners. You’re all on one team.
- Check your ego at the door every single time. Never stop being a student and willing to learn.
- Embrace your aesthetic. Your crazy ideas might just be your client’s dream concept.
- You don’t have to know everything before you start. If I had waited until I felt fully ready, Locket Events Co. would still be an idea. Start before you’re comfortable and figure it out along the way.
- Your reputation is built in the moments no one sees. Show up when you say you will. Do what you said you’d do. The little things become the big things over time.

Over the last year, I’ve had the privilege of planning weddings, galas, corporate gatherings, and milestones.

I’ve worked alongside incredible clients, talented vendor partners, supportive friends, and family members who believed in this dream from day one.

I’m grateful for the packed dance floors, happy tears, client’s trust, fun tablescapes, meaningful connections, and pure joy on event day that reminds me why I do this every single time.

To every client who trusted me with a milestone, every partner who recommended my work, and every person who cheered me on this year: thank you (!!!!!!)

Year one was about building the foundation. I can’t wait to see what year two has in store. 💚

From horse stall to cocktail lounge. 🐎🥃

One of our favorite design moments from Claire and Luke’s reception was The Stirrup Club. Inspired by Ralph Lauren and The Polo Bar, we transformed one of the barn’s stalls into a cozy spot for guests to grab a drink, gather, and stay awhile.
